About the region of the
Costa Brava and Catalunya
|
|
The capital city of Barcelona in the beautiful region of Catalunya has many historical and beautiful buildings, which include palaces, cathedrals, bull rings even shops have been converted out of fantastic architectural masterpieces. Marks and Spencer's have converted one of the oldest and certainly largest banks into a large store. The city is particularly famous for the architect Gaudi who has many buildings scattered around the city. Then there are modern buildings like the Nou Camp stadium and shopping centres with all the designer shops you would expect in this rich city.

Coming up the coast to our particular area there is a dramatic change in scenery with high mountains lush in pine forests and lots of small rocky coves and sandy beaches.
|
The
water front is just as impressive with its mixture of new
and old buildings. Here you will find many bars and eating places, and at the
bottom of the rambles which leads you back into Barcelona is the famous statue
of
Columbus.
The beach at Platja d'Aro is the largest in the area with many bars and restaurants along the promenade. At the end of the bay is the marina full of luxury boats. Nearby there is a large water park and for keen golfers there are some beautiful courses just outside the town.

| If you do fly over to check out this beautiful region I am sure you won't be disappointed. Even if you do not buy a property I am sure you will return for a holiday. |
